This is the story of
Peanut's Grandpa Asleep Forever...
Peanut and I were out early this morning to check on the bulldogs in the 'barn'.
The 'barn' was to be a workshop but whenever a bully needs special attention, we make room for him in the 'barn'.
That's where during the night, Elvis' heart stopped while he was sleeping.
Peanut looked around at the exercise pens and asked, "Where's Grandpa Elvis? Is he still sleeping?"
"Yes, Peanut. Grandpa is still asleep and I'm sorry to say, he isn't ever going to wake up."
Peanut thought for a moment and then he said, "That makes me very sad.
But, I am sure glad that Grandpa and I had a good time together yesterday.
... he was so much fun."

"Yes, Peanut, and he liked to play with you, too."
Peanut grinned and said, "Grandpa Elvis sure liked living here with you and Mama, too!"
"He surely did! Mama saw Elvis when he was three years old -- 21 dog years --
and he ran out to Mama and wanted to go home with her! So she said okay and Elvis came to live with us.
Then we found out that Elvis and Pepper Jack, your great uncle, were brothers from the same litter!
What a surprise!"
Peanut asked, "Is that when he met Grandma Charlotte?"
"Yes and they had lots of puppies together!"
"I sure am going to miss him..."
"Me too, Peanut..."
