This is the story of
Peanut growing up!

As I sat down in the lawn chair to watch the fish and frogs in the pool, Peanut asked, "What are we going to do today?"

"Well, Peanut, I guess we will walk the other dogs and clean their beds and feed them..."

"That's WORK! I meant what are we going to PLAY today?" Peanut looked up at me so sweetly.

I told Peanut, "Playing with puppies and bulldogs all day is fun work. When you grow up, you should find a job that you really like! Then you can play every day!"

Peanut thought a minute. He tried to scratch the top of his head to think better but he scratched his ear instead...

"But what can I do?" he asked.

That's a big question for someone so young. Peanut will be 6 months old next week -- that's 3 and a half "dog years" old.

"Let's see...", I said. "You could be in a commercial for Purina Puppy Chow. Or you could be a guide dog for a handicapped person. Or you could visit children's hospitals and make the kids happy. But, I think the best job for you would be a Marine mascot! You always wanted to be a 'Devil Dog'!"
